Our room had two comfortable double beds, private bathroom, flat screen TV and an old style a/c. The Green Mountain Inn dates back to 1833 and is an elegant affair that is also just eight miles from the powdery slopes at Stowe Mountain Resort. The in-house restaurant serves up mouthwatering locally sourced dishes in a warm and intimate setting.
Very friendly and helpful staff although as with many places in 2021, the lack of staff meant limited housekeeping which was fine with me. Cosy rooms are traditionally dressed with antiques; the best have clawfoot tubs.

Piecasso is the absolute Best pizza in the country if not world!! there is a pool and a hot tub, the location is convenient to stores, food, University of Vermont, downtown Burlington. The Kimpton Taconic Hotel in Manchester is a boutique property with resort-like amenities. The room was lovely. Weekend break and relaxing. Today, it is owned by Marriott but still retains some of its yesteryear charm.
