I have extremely flat feet and the adrenaline line kept me from getting lower back pain due to extreme pronation. Ive neutral to mild overpronation in my left foot and mild to moderate in my right foot. I have wore Brooks Adrenaline for over 25 years.. Well over 100 pair of shoes.. What other questions do you have? I hope that works if you just need some mild stability and cushioning. Many thanks. The Adrenaline GTS 15 has plenty of stability and it has increased from the 14 in my opinion (but mine was more like Jonathans experience). The shoe have many common Brooks updates: 1) BioMoGo DNA midsole that allows for ample cushioning and comfort 2) full-length segmented crash pad it allows for a smooth ride through foot strike 3) the Progressive Diagonal Rollbar to assist with stability. Both nice in dry tarmac, but a little tricky in the woods (mostly in the wet days). There are several Brooks that are a little higher price and offer more stability but if you want a shoe that is similar in stability, cushioning, price, you could look at the ASICS GT 2000 3. Hopefully it was just that pair, if not, hope you found another pair that fit your needs and foot. We dont want to make your shin splints worse. In my opinion, the ASICS Kayano 21 would be a good shoe as very comparable stability wise (good stability for pronation). They the ( key power ) promised to get back to me and put a small little faith in Brooks and them . The Adrenaline 15s and Saucony Guides are similar in their stability and cushioning and how they feel underfoot as you make the heel-to-toe strike. I am also in the process of running and testing the Kayano 22 which was just released (earlier than normalso a review will be posted as soon as I am done testing). My apologizes for fat fingering it. Let me know if you need help with other shoes if you dont find 14s. I have been wearing Brooks Adrenalines since 2008 (when I strtaed running). I know with this version Brooks incorporated their BioMoGo DNA blended midsole and I wonder if your flat feet dont like that change to the midsole. But in my opinion, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 would be a great shoe for you as long as your arch feels comfortable. On buying them I wasnt aware they were for overpronation. So much so you will see the GTS 14s on special deal everywhere. Whatever improvements they made are destroying my back. Until today heard nothing from them , from there I told myself never again will I ever touch any brooks sport product and or step into this store who sold me a bloody piece of junk @$169SGD . I did not get a chance to run in the 14s so cant directly compare. Cheers, Travis See more at: http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2015/01/brooks-adrenaline-gts-15-review/#comment-309175. Thank you for your comments. I havent heard of many having issues with the toe box or giving out but let me know if you experience the same with the 14s. A size 9 or 10 is around 11 oz so going up 1/2 in wont add that much weight to the shoe. Ill never have faith again in the Brooks product and the people who sold this bloody stuff @$169 SGD. I love my Adrenalin GTS 15. Have been a long-term fan of Brooks Adrenaline; last pair were Adrenaline 13. The GTS 16 should be available soon for review and testing so check back in the fall for complete review. See size guide. I love my pair. Im now running up to 14km in humid Australian temps so the 15 gets too tight on my middle toes causing pain and blisters. I would suggesting sizing up since the Adrenaline GTS 15s run approximately 1/2 size smaller. However, I hope that since you did not like the GTS 16, you are able to resolve with your local running shoe dealer I hope you can exchange them for a shoe that better suits your running style. If you have any other questions on shoes, dont hesitate to comment and ask. If so, this is around 1,100 miles and for any shoe that would be a lot and almost double what most can get out of shoes. It definitely out last those adidas prior to that before using the 16 . After switching to the 14s, I developed an inner knee problem that had me off running for a couple of months! Some of the key changes include the new BioMoGo DNA material used in the midsole, an updated full-length segmented crash pad has been included from heel-to-toe to allow for a soft transition and a new Progressive Diagonal Rollbar has been designed to assist in the overall responsiveness of the shoe during a run. Flex grooves for more freedom of movement. The GTS 15s are better and closer to the support in the GST 13s. Look for the GTS 16 review coming in the next month or so. I just noticed the other day that on Brooks website they say shoe runs 1/2 small. This new midsole material works well with the Adrenaline GTS 15 which is the latest shoe to benefit from this new technology that has debuted in many Brooks shoes in the last year. His work is regularly featured in The New York Times, Washington Post, BBC and the likes as well as peer-reviewed journals. I am glad you liked the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15s. Thanks for the comments and question. That way you will not be spending money on shoes that dont work for your running needs. Sizing on the 15 was about a half a size off in length and the shoe runs narrow. The fixes or treatments can vary depending on what is actually causing it. I bought a pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTS shoes for my wife in November 20th. I have a Brooks Ghost and after 150km the front middle section of the sole already has lost about 2mm thickness. Same with wed few hours of break in. Dont want anything to stiff. So I decided to replace the GTS 16 In Feb 2016 after clock both at high mileage . We earn affiliate commissions at no extra cost to you when you buy through us. The shoe I think would work for you if you feel the arch would be ok for your flat feet. The problem I seem to have is that stability shoes dont offer enough cushiong and cushioned shoes not enough stability. I am just starting to test so a review will be posted as soon as done. So I am in PT and it is doing wonders pain is down to almost zero. I had used the prior versions of the Adrenaline for five years with no problems, including through a few full marathon training regimes with a variety of speed work, racing, tempos and long runs. Let us know how the heel cups work in NB and I hope that your heel pain goes away after some more miles in the shoes maybe? Sorry to hear the Adidas shoes didnt work. Too small!
If you like Brooks and want some cushioning and not too much stability, you may like the Brooks Ghost 7 which has good cushioning. My question: Would trying a Adrenaline be a step up, yet still be in the right direction for my foot type? So if you fancy giving the GTS 15 a go, I recommend trying on a pair and going for a run around the shop to test. Thanks for taking the time to provide your experience in the Adrenaline GTS 15s. They both weight around 11oz. So you should be ok. And I am glad they worked for you and you found a pair to put lots of miles on. Here is the review for that: http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2013/06/new-balance-870v3-review/. Thanks for the question. It essentially gives contoured support thats very responsive. Its tried and true, The ASICS MAGIC SPEED delivers on its promise of comfortable, lightweight, The redesigned and rebuilt New Balance Fresh Foam Vongo 5 is an exceptional, The Nike Air Zoom Structure 24 is a supportive neutral trainer which can, The Altra Provision 6 is a stability shoe on paper, but it doesn't feel like, http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2014/12/asics-kayano-21-review/, http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2015/01/brooks-adrenaline-gts-15-review/#comment-309175, Balanced blend of stability and cushioning, Updated Segmented Crash Pad from heel-to-toe for smoother transition, Midsole updated with BioMoGo DNA delivers improved cushioning, Versatile shoe for of fast runs or higher mileage. The GTS has been around so they wont make drastic changes (or most Brands dont for their flagship shoes) but the 16 is being reviewed now. The 16 took care of some of the length sizing issues but did not address the width. So if you like the feel of the arches in your Ghost you should feel the same with the GTS 15. It wraps around the foot snugly, but it doesnt make the cover system feel stiff or restrictive. The updated Adrenaline GTS 15 continues its tradition of being Brooks Go-To-Shoe (aka GTS) providing excellent stability complimented by updated cushioning from heel-to-toe for those runners who are seeking a shoe that delivers a smooth transition and solid running experience. It was awesome. more profit for them, less comfort for me. Interesting.
Everyone is different and some can get away with wearing shoes which help with mild to moderate overpronation. And the Sole unit added the flexible crash pad. Now I want to go back to Brooks and am reading up on Ravenna and Adrenaline. I normally wear a ghost and loved them as I have always got really bad shin splints and my right ankle and knee experience pain during running and the ghost helped I apparently roll out when running more so in that leg and this shoe was recommended I have worn them to gym and to run on the foot path and I dont know Im thinking I should take them back I had immediate shin splints and my ankle and knee flared up almost immediately.. Should I persist Ive been told I have 30 days to take them back am tempted to wear my old ghosts which definitely needed upgrading . Once you talk to them, let me know as they will be able to physically analyze your gait to see if you are better off in a Ghost or Adrenaline GTS model. The Brooks Adrenaline 14 or the updated 15 does have a good medium to high arch support which will assist with your higher archers. It took around 15-20 miles to break these shoes in and Im loving them.
I would agree the support is more like the GTS 13s and the Progressive Diganol Rollbar is a great addition to this latest version. 11-12 mm drop is not acceptable anymore! Fortunately, I was able to find a pair of 13 and a pair of 14 so Ive been wearing those instead.
Good luck. Im 42, so I like comfort above all (including weight and speed). ASICS Kayano 21 Review: http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2014/12/asics-kayano-21-review/, http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2015/02/asics-gt-2000-3-review/. If you get a chance, would you suggest going with the GT-2000 or GT-1000. The shoe now has a full-length segmented crash pad that is designed to increase the overall responsiveness and smooth transition throughout the runners stride. ha! It has really irritated my Achilles tendon and I am not able to use the shoe anymore. Was that helpful? Who should buy the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15, Multi-directional flex grooves allow more flexible, Adrenaline GTS 15 provides lightweight cushioning, Brooks GTS 15 delivers a secure and customizable fit. the ASICS GT1000 is for moderate overproantors. Thanks a lot and I do kind of already have the 870 so I think Ill replace that with the 860 when worn out and then rotate it with the Adrenaline. If you need a little less stability but want some, then the Brooks Ravenna 6 would be another good option for you. It seems as though Brooks is adding their new BioMogo DNA into all shoes starting in the last several years. Thanks for the question on the new Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15. Thank you for your comments and questions. I do like the cushioning on all the GTS, but I hope an think over time they can actually improve to make a bit more soft which may help as you reach that 350 mile barrier, in your case for example. Good luck with finding that right rotating of shoes but sounds like you feel comfortable with the shoes that you like and work well for you. I am an active person who has waited a long time for this trip. Then the NB next time. The Adrenaline GTS 15 comes in with the same 12 mm offset as the previous model, is comparable to others in its stability category and this heel-to-toe drop did not affect the performance. How many days or hours have you worn them? The Brooks Ravenna 6 and Adrenaline GTS 15 are similar in some ways in that they have the same sole unit, similar uppers that are comfortable, breathable and adjustable. I run with a 9,5 and they fit perfect, should i buy a 10 or should keep the 9.5 size? http://www.brooksrunning.com/en_us/defective.html. Again, Im a 13 with regular shoes, 14 with running shoes and a size 15 with these. http://www.runnersworld.com/tag/shin-splints, Please let me know after you speak with them and before your 30 days are up how the shins are doing and if you see a different with lighter miles. I dont believe that these shoes are gender specific (some are). I am looking for another pair of shoes to replace the Nikes as they've outlived their best days as well. Now Im looking into getting another pair. The Adrenaline 13 went quick on the small toe side. Using the runners for 16 weeks (70km weekly), the soles at the front half are just plain flat! Even putting one shoe and balancing on my toes I feel some discomfort, but when I put my 13s back on its definitely less noticeable. And are they starting to get any better the longer you wear them? I have now run in the 15s and now have an IT Band injury. So if look for more stability then GTS 15 is the way to go, if look for just some stability then Ravenna 6. The heels on both shoes are made of the same material and cushioning so you will be safe there and they will offer you control if you do heel strike a bit. http://www.runningshoesguru.com/2014/08/brooks-ghost-7-review/. If you got 1,120 kms out of the shoes, that is a lot. A few months back I tried the Adidas Sequences and they were absolutely fantastic for the first month but then I got a really bad knee pain; needless to say, I was gutted because until then, anything from speed work to long marathon training runs were so comfortable. I have really done well with the gts until the 15. I have no proof it is because of the shoe, but just guessing. I am not sure what changes Brooks made to the 14s and 15s, but they are not the same shoes I loved. Glad you like the Adrenaline GTS 15s, hope you can put some good miles on them! Travis enjoys the adventure of traveling and exploring the outdoors with friends and is fueled by discovering where the next trail will lead. If you can find them in your local store, try them both on and see how they feel as you lace up. You might go to store and try both on during same visit and see if you can feel the difference. The reviews are listed below. It offers decent stability and good cushioning (a bit more than the GTS 15. So for me, I enjoyed running in both and would run in both again.
The toe box on the GTS 15 was about 1/2 size small and this was noted by Brooks (on their website). They absolutely the best running shoe in terms durability , comfort . You said you got the 14s which have a more thick or ope mesh on the toe box then the new GTS 15s. Could you please let me know if I can use the shoes that Ive already bought or I have better replaced them with neutral running shoes?
For most with normal arches they wont notice the difference, but that could be the issue for you in this version. They hurt my knees so Ive since moved on. Similar in to Adrenaline that it does off some stability and you can personalize fit with saddle to your foot.
Multi-directional flex grooves allow the platform to be more flexible, thus following the natural movement of the foot. . My previous Adrenalines (14 XW) were a bit too short. Supportive and confortable BUT after 2 months it started breaking apart .. and the local customer support was lousy to say the least .. Cheap materials in my personal opinion ! I hope you are able to exchange for a new pair or a pair that you know works for you. There are many did raised the issue of wear quickly on the GTS 16 . Travis Trampe is a financial professional who calls the mountains of Colorado his home. Apart from that they stay together with hardly any signs of wear. And since the Ghost had previously been recommended, they may say the GTS 15 is to stable. If you loved 14 and under, forget about the 15 and 16. I know it is frustrating when something like that happens. It has been updated with the 7 with both Flyknit and Flywire technology now. Compare the popularity of another shoe to Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15: Below shows the distribution of scores for all running shoes. I have an XW flat foot that pronates just a little and Im a 62 200 lb. The Adrenaline did update their sole this go around where the Ravenna did it in the previous versioon so its dialed in more in my opinion. The upper in this version, in my running experience, delivered a snug, secure fit. After one month in these shoes, they feel completely dead. I have put lots of miles on them (the NB 1260v4 are retired as I put lots and lots of miles on them and they held up well) and they Brooks are still in my shoe rotation. The medium is now too narrow (particularly in the ball of the foot) and the wide is too wide. Thank you for providing feedback on both the GTS 15 and the Ghost 7. 400 road miles in this one and we are just about ready for a new pair. The Ravenna 6 might be a good alternative, unless you need more stability that the GTS 15 offers. So, what shoes do you guys recommend me? It is is designed for a mid to high arch but again that goes to personal feel so you would need to try the shoe on. Thanks for your feedback on the GTS 15. I have been happy with the support and comfort they have offered. Can you recommend one over another? The shoes are similar in how they feel, how they perform, but Brooks has slight edge in my opinion. Thanks for your feedback. I run approximately 35 miles per week and get new shoes every three months. The shoes are smaller than the size says. Thanks. I think ASICS are worth it, but price is always something to consider as both are good shoes and you would be happy with either. The Adrenaline GTS (14 or 15) shoe is also in Brooks Stability category so it will help with your overpronation as well. So it all depends on if your foot is true 9.5 or if in between sizes. With the 12, first time I ran in them, it felt like the foam was more compressed and worn out (even though they were brand new). For the Ghosts, the should not wear down after 150km regardless so hopefully they can. The Corescore is a score from 0-100 that summarizes opinions from users and experts. A breathable material called the Element Mesh makes the upper unit feel very comfortable. My right foot is perfectly fine. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 upper has a very simple, yet effective design. Runs a 1/2 small so size up a 1/2 size when trying on and buying. Sorry Jose, I meant Jose and not Joes! My feet feel like they did when I would wear out a pair of my old Asics. Since the Adrenaline GTS 15 does run around 1/2 smaller I will give you my opinion which is safe one. It was too stiff (despite using the Mizuno Wave Inspire 8/9/10 series with great results, and the Kayano 19/20, a softer shoe). I had switch to Asics GT 2000 and Saucony iso triumph , all I can said they it remind me the GTS 12 and 13 . I plan on using these shoes regularly during the next 2-3 weeks and hoping that the toe box is not a major issue. Thanks for the question. Im hoping I can still exchange them for something else. Shin splits as you know can be caused by many different factors upping mileage too quick, muscle imbalance, etc (see Runners World article attached for some good quick information for you). Non-toxic and biodegradable midsole unit provides lightweight and responsive cushioning. But the GTS 15 is a quality shoe and a step up from the Ravenna 6 in control and stability. The Brooks Adrenaline does have a medium to high arch support system in place so would be a shoe that would give your flat feet some support. Thanks for the comments. The shoes you noted above all vary in cushioning and stability. The bad: The toe box is definitely tight and my poor big toe is a bit sore after the run. The 15 and 16 are a nightmare Brooks blew it. Thanks for your question. The ASICS GT-2000 and Saucony Triumph ISO are good, reliable shoes so good choice and glad you are enjoying them! If you have questions, please let me know. Do you think its a good idea to try these in size 15? With the updated design of the sole and the reactive, natural feel underfoot, this shoe is one that can handle the demands of the pavement and can be taken on light trails. They do require a little break in period but they are a firm stability shoe which it sounds like you may need. I work 12 hour shifts and these came highly recommended by a lot of hospital workers. Is it possible that its due to the shoe?? Thanks for the question. These will be going back to the store today before I do serious injury to my feet. 78% say it's true to size. I need a favor from You I would need the email address to Brooks or whom to write to @ Brooks manufacturer concerning the quality issue that I am having I just do not feel justify for me to paid so much money this shoe that I dun get what I paid for and the type of service i received from Key power intl . Its a very helpful design when it comes to enabling a more effective toe-off, which requires the foot to bend more in the forefoot section. So if you like more cushioning, the Kayanos may have a touch more cushioning but I would try both on as they would both be good in your rotation. I cant comment directly on if they are great for just walking around but for running they are a great stability shoe so for being active if you have flat feet they should be ok. Would the Adrenaline have too much heel or is that a good thing for my heavier weight even though my heel barely touches the ground. In the name of rotating shoes might the New Balance 870 be a good choice since its in this category of support, but maybe the most different? Which offers better stability? And at the same time it may reduce over time. The Adrenaline 15 is a worthy successor to the 12 and 13 versions. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 15 remains a must have for runners who are looking for a solid stability shoe that continues on its long tradition of being a secure daily trainer capable of handling the demands of fast runs or long, high mileage outings. Id say the overall fit is fineif I got a half-size up it seems like itd be way too roomy. I recently bought the Brooks Adrenaline 15 and my first thoughts are that the shoe provides excellent support for an overpronator like me.
