So I would never use super glue for gluing EVA foam. The glued parts will be squished and have to endure a lot of strain, so there arent a lot of glues, that checks all of these boxes.
This is meant as a beginner primer for adhesives (that we use [enough to know a bit about {mostly}]). In our shop you can also find crafting patterns to help you with your own projects! You can continue working on your project but the glue will only be completely dry after about an hour.

Hot Glue is also quite a thick clue and when you want to glue EVA Foam very accurately, then you may end up with very ugly and unsightly seams and gaps due to the nature of the Hot Glue (and sealing the Foam afterward can be complicated.) They are called Cosplayflex, Thibra or Wonderflex but generally all work the same way.
Hot glue is amazing for gluing foam to foam since its hot enough that the foam melts a little and basically fuses the pieces together. Vallejo has nice standard colors as well as some greatmetallics and special effects.
This is quite useful for adding details!

I started using an Elmer's Glue bottle and refilling that as needed.

I personally like to use Gorillas heavy-duty double-sided tape. To use Contact Cement simply apply a small layer on both pieces, that you want to glue and let the layer dry for a few minutes.

Super glue is not nearly strong enough for most Foam Projects, the surface of the Foam has to be roughed up in order for the glue to stick and bond properly and super glue is not flexible, so when the foam pieces are being deformed then the glue will eventually weaken over time. Soooo, when it comes to painting with acrylics, I mainly useproducts from Amsterdam and Reeves.

I would simply use Contact Cement. Im using the material quite frequently for armor and prop making and its just perfect for laser cutting as well.
There is nothing wrong with sticking the the gold old brown stuff though.

This is our go-to glue. If you work with Worbla or EVA foam, you almost always need a primer.
Hey Lucan, If youre trying to get approved by the Mandalorian Mercs you might want to check with them on EVA foam armor. It has other good uses, like for gluing plastics and other smaller, lighter, and less flexible things. The short answer is yes, but it will be a lot harder to get a strong bond without any gaps. There are also other types of foam here in Europe, like those from www.minque.nl.

Yeah, superglue is a total non-starter for EVA.
In general this kind of adhesive isa gluethatyou apply in thin layers on both sides, let it dry a few seconds and press together afterwards.
(and sealing the Foam afterward can be complicated. I would highly recommend using Contact Cement, from all the different Glues, that I tried this glue is by far the one that worked the best for me.
im using a foam brush but im not getting good results with it, the glue works like a charm though. They both work well and cost almost the same.

Before you apply any Seal you first have to Heat Seal your EVA Foam, and make sure, that everything, including the edges of your foam, are smooth. Itgives youmore control with your tools and you dont make mistakes that easy. This Amazing GOOP Adhesive might just be what youre looking for if you want glue or paste that perfectly adheres to rubber, EVA foam, contact cement, and silicone. Do you know where to find blood or night elf ears? Glue itself can be versatile and used for filling molds.
Keep up the informative videos. I would not use hot glue for very thin fabrics because they might melt when you apply the glue. So gluing fabric to EVA Foam can seem quite complicated and Contact Cement is defiantly not the way to go.

Glue sticks can come in a variety of colors, Can be a bit messy, nozzle keeps leaking sometimes and leaves threads of hot glue everywhere, May be visible under thinner materials if the glue isnt smoothed out, Can straight-up melt or ignite some materials (spot test or look up the melting point of the material), May be only semi-permanent in some cases, depending on the surfaces, Can melt when exposed to heat (dont leave pieces glued together with hot glue in a hot car), Very strong, practically permanent once bonded together, Great for EVA foam armor/props (the main go-to for a lot of foamsmiths), Fumes require ventilation and/or a respirator, Requires a ready supply of brushes for application, Shelf life up three months to a year depending on storing conditions.
