lalique pour homme vs equus

Sillage is moderate as is longevity (on the lower end for a eau de parfum).

lalique equus That woodsy note is present through all the experience, deserves a full review and provides Equus whit an earthy and balmy odor profile. For the money, this is a fine fragrance worthy of some time spent exploring its many angles. Maybe bright sunny fall day too? Online right now: 2,681, Fragrantica in your language: This love lasts now some years Maybe it is so good on a the skin of my bf but then it is a bonus ;). Equus also reminds me of the Oregon High Desert where I grew up. Projection ("sillage") is moderate at best (I have only tried the EdT), but longevity is quite good (I got some on my shirt and that lasted a very long time). EDT new bottle review.

Three wordsamazing, fantastic, Unique! I gave the bottle (which is really nice and heavy) to a coworker, since she liked the scent and could see herself wearing it. Lalique perfume just have its own league and very different from other generic fragrances. Unfortunately, this will be located near the back of my collection due to the overly strong pepper I sense. I like rare kind of perfumes. Perfect every day scent!

Because of this mature vibe and me only being 19 I feel like this is a special occasion scent, maybe as I get older I may wear a bit more liberally. Initially sweetish, spicy and cedary, it dries down to a spicy sandalwood that is quite lovely. Minimal sillage and projection on my skin. Overall I think that for the price you can find this for it's an absolute bargain, maybe a good blind buy if you like vetiver/ earthy scents. I think the EDP isn't in an engraved bottle anymore.

I think "sequoia" is a reasonable description of this heart, though don't think sequoia or redwood trees yield any commercial oils and I hope that these rare and magnificent trees are not cut down for our vanity. Yet it does have a transitional character, feels a bit incomplete. This scent takes me back there. It's an amazing scent. It's more airy than I expected and this quality makes it signature-scent worthy and suitable all year-round. More like a very expensive glass of cool lemon-lime juice. Projection is weak after 2 hours; but stays long time (EDP). It's kind of delicate unfortunatelly, but everytime you smell yourself - you feel the class. Equus is only my second blind buy, my first was Thierry Mugler Pure Havana which I love a lot therefore based on reviews on this forum I took a chance with Lalique. In the best way.

Not generic woods - the smells of nature. It has however grown on me. Wow! Overall, it's an awesome release and highly recommended. Intoxicating projection for many hours, strong sillage. You are dwarfed by their girth and height. FAIR performance. I thought, I hope this settles down and as is at least as nice as Azzaro Visit. Later you can distinguish the different lighter additives like juniper or violet. The bottle represent one of the powerful animal in zodiac. This is ok at best but nothing to write home about. I'm going to be one of the many haters of this fragrance, but unfortunately I really dislike it. Its a comforting smell that has something to it that seems just slightly feminine to me. To my nose this has some shared DNA with Lalique Pour Homme (lion) EDP. Great for waking the senses yet relaxing. EDT is a very nice woody scent, lots of cedar-like depth, slight natural sweetness that is dry and not cloying. A big dose of lemony citrus with woods starts the fragrance off. Hence, I'm not a huge fan of this fragrance. Only 3 hours performance is my only cfitics. Relaxing in front of a fireplace, sipping a cup of hot cocoaor tumbler of Scotch, and smelling fragrances like Lalique Equus. If you have any cheerful memories connected with circus you'll love it too. It actually reminded me of Guerlain's Vetiver if you took away that slight anamalic note it has. This gives way to mostly vetiver in the heart, and the dry down is woody. I get about 4 hours with soft projection, which is fine, since Equus is quite cheap. lalique

This is a bit of a one dimensional sequoia scent, but it is very well done and unique in its detailed recreation of this particular wood. I got the EDT. When you walk through these giant ancient trees they are not only towering above you, but you walk over their roots and stir up the soil that is also composed of the bark. Very masculine, tasteful, understated. Equus has the ability on me to bring to mind all the wonderful little details of the season that might otherwise go unnoticed in the daily grind. I love it so much. As for the fragrance, it's nice, fresh & rural. I had sprayed just twice with Equus before leaving my house.

Im pretty far imto the drydown and i get spice and wood mixed with a light touch of creed origional vetiver. And it's EDP I'm talking about. Aroma by Costa Brazil: Candidate For Best Fragrance 2022? This EDP was under $30 when I bought it. As this fragrance heads down into the mid, the spices and citrus come through with the cardamom, nutmeg, mace and a bit of citrus (not over powering citrus). Like I'm sure many others, upon initial application I was a bit put off by what registers as a strong cedar aroma. Blind buy based on reviews (thank you!). I like Equus better than Encre Noir. The cap feels cheap alsoif it is important for you.

The bottle is also incredibly stunning. Oh my lord what a wonderful unique hidden gem this is! It smells good, just not for me. And I'm not one bit disappointed! Sillage is good but it not last long only 4 hours. As other reviewers have pointed out this does smell like wood shavings, or pencil shavings and this is true; and in such a great masculine way!

lalique Its very woody- cedar up front (sequoia? Tobacco scent without tobacco note. I knew on the day it arrived that based on the notes it was a pure gamble all for a pretty pony in glass. This is no different. Elegant, Classy and Sophisticated. lalique

For that price, I took a chance. Hi every one this perfume one if the strong longevity. Lalique never disappoints in the unique factor. I have the EDT and the EDP. lalique equus 100ml Not for me. I got the chance finally to put my hand this beautiful scent, that I was running after since quiet long time. I hate the usual, "masculine," strong woody fragrances, and I don't like violet leaf, but this fragrance is very well done, about as good as it gets if you like balanced,.dynamic, natural smelling ones, as I do.

I can't ask for more!

Love the engraving. Unique, lalique's signature type of fragrance. It's fresh like a forest, yet spicy. I know it was great on me and short lastingbut what a GREAT scent! Purchased blind from a discounter in EDT concentration - based on my experience with Lalique Lion I expect the EDT to have more citrusy brightness and less Iso E Super. Woody, fresh, but sweet. Even though the bottle was depictured as the older one with the relief horse, I received the newer one with the flat motif.

it becomes a woody scent. Really, Lalique can do no wrong in my eyes. lalique equus parfum homme eau spray pour I live in the Mountain West and know the "Mountain high-country-classy" vibe very well and love it. I purchased this perfume (Lalique Equus EDP) for my husband and when he wore it, it reminded me of something between Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille and Tonka Imperiale. They have captured that unique slightly sweet wood perfectly, with a softer fade to it over time. I like the pronounced juniper note mixing with the warm spices and leather, that gives it a unique touch. I don't know..a lot of people is saying that this doesn't last long but it does on me but then again I have the edp versionhaving said that this is definitely a niche scent, projection is not the best but is good, silage is good too, worthy of signature scent.presentation is awesomelove the bottle.it reminded me of the movie gladiator..lol. The longevity is average (5 hours). Amazing! Oh yes. I'm only sad I waited so long to try Lalique's Pour Homme Equus. Lalique Pour Homme Equus was launched in 2001. In my never ending quest for high quality woods, I turned to Lalique. This was certainly ahead of the curve for 2001.

Can anyone advise what difference there is in scent and performance between the EDP and EDT?

I love this stuff.

I wonder if it was reformulated as well. I think there's leather too but it's the idea of leather, not in-your-face, just enough to give this a classic equus vibe like other perfumes in this genre but not over the top. But it really is an amazing, awesome, fantastic and unique fragrance. That wonderful tree, sap, juniper smell that is perfectly balanced and enjoyable, comforting, like a big hug from a forest. I describe Equus as a walk through a high-end horse stable, with just fresh hay and no horses, but idealized with a sprinkle of sugar dust. . Wonderful fragrance! ~ Equus was pure and simple a blind buy based on an infatuation with an amazing Lalique bottle! I blind bought Equus for two reasons, I was impressed with Encre Noir, and the price. It's a like, not a love. That is what its all about. I've never smelled mace in a fragrance and it's pleasing. But this one is Definitely not for me. It's afforfablr, but i wish it will be last longer on my skin. I have revisited this many times to rein in what I was smelling and adjust to this strange, spicy, mysterious new scent. Such a luxury scent, absolutely love it. I like Pour Homme Equus EDP better than edt. Fragrance Reviews: 1,286,783 It is lasting and really stayed on my skin very well. Suitable for any kind of man, any age. I keep sniffing my own skin. I'm so glad that I have it in my collection. So when the new King is coronated he wears Royal Oud. .

Really ? When the dry down occurs this fragrance truly opens up in a delightful way. This smells EXACTLY like Karl Lagerfeld Bois de Vetiver, but a tad less sweet. This is more appropriate for a mature man, not necessarily an older man but a mature man. Fist time i thought i EDT is better than EDP. Equus is warm and earthy and smells like a very high quality product. One of my favorites. In the last three days i revisited my Lalique collection and it's fascinating to trace the line from the first Pour Homme (Lion) through Le Faune and Equus to its White culmination (which to me is the best of the four) Equus is reminiscent of White (if not in smell - though there are plenty of similarities) in its therapeutical effect. The floor carpeted with dead fallen pine leaves that feel cushy underfoot. Another winner from Lalique.

LaLique Equus is a woody, herbal fragrance but not at all bitter and while herbal it is nothing like an '80's powerhouse and thankfully nothing like the insipid fruity, vanilla or unisex fragrances that many seem to like today. Amazing fragrance! When this fragrance came out I bought a 100ml EDP, not even a 1/4 of bottle, I just gave it away :((. But I love the fragrance itself, far more than I expected to. Mountain high-country-classy: you wear cowboy boots, but those $2000 hand-stitched pair of Luccheses aint ever kicked a pile of cow sh**. The most prominent component is a mild cedar/redwood scent, but aside from that Equus doesn't hit me with strong individual notes. It has better longevity on me in warm weather (I'm at about hour seven and still getting whafts) and it's got the perfect moderate sillage. Terrific and unique smell, but sits very close to the skinVERY, VERY close in fact, before fading away after about three hours. Wow!

Ok,ok.received the edp today.Blind buy, naturally. find it sufficiently sophisticated and understated that it can work in the office, but the woods and spices scream to be worn outdoors. I was actually pleasantly surprised by Zara on this one. I adore Equus on a cold Autumn morning when the sillage mixes with the scent of the new day and the smell burning wood stoves wafting through the air. 30+ men fragrance. Also, the bottle is gorgeous! I think DrNDJas's review nailed it.lol! Oh, no sir. A faint whisper of violet upon deep inhalation. If youve ever been to the USA mountain west (Wyoming, Utah, Colorado), there exists a aesthetic of country/rustic posh: grand cabins, lots of natural wood, exposed log beams, expensive hand-made leather boots- think Jackson Hole, Park City, Aspen. Blown away by how brilliantly unique this beautiful fragrance is. Will update with more time. (EDP) On my skin I get a lot of vetiver from this after the citrus opening dies down. Smells favorably in quality to Bois de Portugal, though the profile is different. I bought this and love from first spray.

I need to reapply every 4 hours, which for the price isn't a deal breaker. After wearing Equus a couple of times, I bought 2 more backup bottles. I have the edp but will get the edt as well. Instead married with the other notes it is nothing at all like a "hamster cage" scent one smells.

The overall effect of the opening brings to my mind of indian chai tea (not the Starbucks one) without ginger and sour cream. I wish it had better performance and sillage. It is a classy smell but you do have to put on quite a few sprays to get any effect and sillage is poor. :)Actually, the perfume reminds me of something from the pastlike 90 vibe.It is original, nothing close to todays mass appealing offerings,so youll smell great and original.I must say that Im very, very happy with this purchase, and I would Highly recommend it. Safe blind buy? Not in your face, just classy. Dries down to a soft, spicy, resinous, warm scent with moderate projection. It is a soothing scent. I love Quorum Silver and TDH so I figured I would like this one. For me it is not about the scent alone (which is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING), but also how this makes me feel when I am wearing it.

It's definitely got that barnyard vibe (dusty hay, cedar chips and dried manure). There are some notes I absolutely love in all their incarnations (like neroli) while others I just plain cannot stand if they are too prominent - and violet leaf is one of them. The original Lalique Pour Homme (Lion head bottle, by Maurice Roucel) is much better. All i have to say is: WOW :D I mean WOOOOOOOOOOW. I keep going back to my wrist for more, it's delightful. Equus is a spicy, woody fragrance. Science Says Maybe, From the Gardens of Versailles to the Gardens of Babylon; The Allure of Olfactory Exploration Beckons at Jardin de Parfums, Priceless Perfume Bottles: An Auction of Poetry in Glass, The Ghost Perfumer by Gabe Oppenheim: on Creed & The Industry, a Book Review. ), loads of it, evoking the favored building material of these places. However I understand that my EDP is a pale reformulation of some previous gorgeous fragrance (the colour of which was pinkish comparing to its reformulation). The Sequoia note is dominant in this fragrance. A lot extraordinary things are happening there in the middle notes, there's kind of hard to describe ingredients in this mixture as it smells so good together. This perfume has a well-balanced composition . The reviewer below me mentioned Tonka Imperiale and Spiriteuse by Guerlain- this all just goes to show this is a very very high quality smelling fragrance. Extremely solid masculine fragrance. Beautiful, unique niche scent. Great value as with most of the Lalique line. Equus is the best spicy woody fragrance I've tried. Smell of open log cabin..very country. I am sure it wont be too long before it's discontinued. Also, the sequoia note in this is very interesting; not to mention also very unique. I always had hamsters growing up and I just can't get past how similar this smells! It begins with a very nice smelling citrus (bergamot mainly) blend with a faint peppery undertone. I've had this one for a few weeks now and I have to say I wasn't a huge fan at first. I'll be keeping an eye on this one. I don't understand some negative comments about this perfume.

Woods and spices make it very natural in its kind. Here's my take on the EDP: heavy cedar, some pine, mild spices in the background. It is a go-to cold weather casual scent for megreat for flannel shirts, heavy wool sweaters, etc. To my nose, the opening is dominated by a peppery note, and the citruses are hidden behind it. what a disappointment. actually this scent is very good, so now i am pissed off. Happily the bottle has the horse head in relief, not the newer etched bottle. a beautiful fragrance, I like but don't love. Great, great, great fragrance.

This fragrance takes me on a journey through a vast land with well-defined groves of prehistoric trees. Love this green fresh little bit aromatic scent from Equus. Unpopular Opinion: I have both the older Engraved Horse EDP, and also the newer Cartoon Horse EDP, and I like the scent of the newer version much better. I have ordered blind both the EDP and aftershave based on my positive experience with Encre Noire and White. The next day when the King makes his appearance at the polo match, or equestrian show, he wears Lalique Pour Homme Equus. Perles Pour Homme?

Probably my fave juniper notes perfume.

The green woody notes and vetiver and I have an unforgiving history. It's a scent that started as a strong like and has grown into one of my favorites. Not sure what sequoia smells like, but the combination of woods, leather, violet leaf and spice notes exude quality at every stage. Edgy and a bit smoky. I only have one bottle and i will have to purchase one moreor i will have to save it with a lot of affection!Lalique made a really well done job.

The pepper in this smells so freshly ground(I love pepper as a note). Also that it's a more affordable, everyday-wear sport version of Creed Royal Oud. Read about this perfume in other languages: Deutsch, Espaol, Franais, etina, Italiano, , Polski, Portugus, , , Nederlands, Srpski, Romn, , , , . Well, in my case, I get mostly juniper (which I have found I really dislike, too astringent to my nose) with some spices, I get cinnamon, which reminds me of Spicebomb (could be the nutmeg). In the end, this is not for me, smells a bit mature for me and quite cheap. I like equus very much. Bought a Decant. The gin like juniper appears lending a bit of a boozy note and then the pleasant spices of cardamon and nutmeg merge with some tart but smooth citrus. The spicy notes last a remarkably long time, but eventually they do give way to a milder but still rich cedar and benzoin base, with a bit of musk, leather, and vetiver. Like many others, I also sense the hay and cedar upon dry down and skin scent mode. Much more likely to impress than to offend. Green and fresh.

Casual tee or dress up. It turns then to a woody musk base that's well executed but not very distinctive. Birds chirp, and the sounds echo through the mile long land that never seems to end in the horizon.
