I put some time it trying to get it to move, then put it on ebay and a guy bought it. the table broke free and I was able to jack the table and cutter assembly off the posts. Never had to try that myself, but in theory it seems sound.

I left the the shipping skids on it and added 4 casters, made it easier to move around. Now THAT was one sweet tool. Late last winter I had the rollers re coated for my planer, I took them to a place in Calgary to have them done, they said they have done a lot of these rollers over the years, one of the original rollers was recoated the other was damaged as a result of the bearing wearing.

The shaft that bent was that the original makita or the machine shop one. i found another chain in my junk box that had the right pitch but larger rollers so it didn't fit the sprocket right, I Just needed to change the ends of the chain as the connector link had broken so I ordered in a new master link and offset link. In a past life I owned one of these great planer, somewhere buried in a shop move I have a new set of blades never used are you interested?? I had a 2030 with a seized table for awhile. I replaced the bearing, installed new chain sprockets and reinstalled the roller. I have a 2030 that has been a workhorse for 30+ years. Just so you're not totally shell shocked. Pretty hard to go wrong with Makita, epecially at a price like that. Check out the picture. Got the bed loose this morning. I cant get any wood past the chip breaker, so it will never make it to the knives. I got it all done and it made real nice chips and ran quite well. The problem I have is that it appears my chip breaker (on the infeed side of the knivespart #25 in the manual) is about 1/4 lower than the knives. Also had some difficulty getting the roll height and spring tensioner screws out and cleaned up, but finally got them done.
