It just smells like an end of summer, warmed-up field to me in the drydown. But I love to spray that over and over to get that fantastic grapefruit opening! I find that for a hot weather non-floral I prefer fig. I wont make it there this trip bc Ive got research to complete in NYC and family stuff to attend to. I have the Marc Jacobs Cucumber splash. However, the price point for something so deceptively simple makes me a little unsure, because it really is primarily neroli on my skin and I have several inexpensive scents that smell very similar. For the moment I have raked up all the leftover bottles from various shopss stocks, and now Im busy persuading some relations that they need to have a look at Paris before long. It starts green-acquatic, but I can get the cucumber note some minutes after applying. Ann: Coup de Foudre is even more citrus-zesty than Une Zeste and I think I like it better, though the Rosine is definitely great, light, and zingy. I bought the sample, out of curiosity, and I would invest in a bottle if it wasn't as pricey. Sounds like youre not. I wore it yesterday 90s and humid. And then of course I have a vat of 4711 and that vat of (hopefully) Mugler Cologne on the way, so I think Ill be pretty set, especially considering I still have to put on my sweats every night. Its the favourite scent of many members of my family, including my father. What I do know is it smells amazing. Not bad! And unfairly so, as the smell of the stuff itself I am sure is complete sunshine. Of course, I have a big jug of the original in the refrigerator anyway. This super hot summer I am really enjoying Rosine Zeste de Rose, Hermes Jardin sur le Nil, AG Mandragore edt, AG eau dHadrien, Cristalle edp (my new summer love), Guerlain Eau d Imperiale, 4711, and the Kenzo Flower la Cologne which is what I am wearing today!!
Its been in the upper 90s here for five weeks, so I can attest that the bit of amber and vanilla in the dry down is not cloying. Im chiming in as no-one has mentioned any of my favourites (apart from Eau de Guerlain). Incidentally, if anyone wants to bathe in it, FragranceNet has a 27 oz. reminds me a great deal of Serge Lutens Fleurs d'Citronnier. This summer my favorite is GFF Bergamotto Marino. Thierry Muglers is at the very top, followed by Chanel EdC and Guerlain Eau De Guerlain. I really LOVED this one alot! Ah! Oddly, though, I kept smelling that jalapeno accord that figures more prominently in LAP Piment Brulant.

I dont have many citrus cologne-style fragrances, but Im particularly enjoying Hermes Pamplemousse Rose this summer. Ive been wearing PR too, and my old favorite Osmanthe Yunnan, which I find I can wear in any weather. Wow, 107that is HOT! Nearly bitter.

I have a sample of this and really like it, too, especially that opening citrus blast. It is, what it is. Heeley Oranges And Lemons Say The Bells Of St. Clements was launched in 2010 and is available in Eau De Parfum concentration. I was going to rate it as a neutral because as I said, I love neroli, but this performed so poorly that I can't see how tit could be anything but a negative rating, even though it's a pleasant enough scentfor about 20 minutesand then it's gone. Oh! Interesting! It smells like 4711, but they have variations like amber, citrus and violet. Don't subscribe A traditional Eau de Cologne reworked to create a fresh, chic and contemporary, Eau de Parfum whose name is taken from the rhyme Oranges and Lemons' (circa 1740) that refers to church bells located within or near the City of London. Heeley calls St. An orange & tea scent would be wonderful! If it were up to me and it so rarely is I would have amped up the tea notes to give it a bit more zing in the dry down, but as it is it's a perfectly enjoyable fragrance. I have tried and liked the 2 new Hermes colognes as well. Although that CdG cologne series does sound worth exploring. Pretty safe.too safe. That reminds me, Ive still never seen the various 4711 flankers (if thats what they were), and a couple of those sounded really good. Here in Italy its not to be had for love or money, and the last 100 ml I could lay hands on was 73 euros, which is quite a lot for a cologne that lasts 15 minutes flat. If they had a smaller size, I might get that, but alas, it's not to be. Do Eau du Sud and Eau dHadrien count as colognes? How very kind, Zazie.Unfortunately, it isnt that easy.
Its beginning reminded unsophisticated me of Eau Sauvage, only simpler, less perfumey. I just got a bottle of Guerlain Eau Imperial and also love 4711 (to me they smell kind of similar, but the 4711 lasts longer). Institut Tres Bien folded, sadly I really liked their Russe. If I do want to freshen up with some eau de cologne, I just rely on 4711it smells great and is cheap, so I can use it lavishly. It would now be quite speculative to consider what the perfumer's intention was in quoting the name and content - there would simply be too much room for interpretation. I fear that Im missing something. Im the opposite, I usually regret wearing something too heavy for the heat. Still, Id love a bottle to keep refreshing. I quickly used it up and ordered some more. decent longevity for a citrus. ITA about the 1984 referencepossibly why I was never very tempted! Were actually supposed to break from the heat wave this weekend, and maybe even some rain come early in the week. I also discovered that AG eau dHadrien and Lancomes Mille et Une Roses layers really amazingly well a more potent combo than the lovely yet rather fleeting Zeste de Rose. Ive only recently come around to appreciating citrus fragrances and colognes, with Diptyques LEau de Nroli being one of my most favoured ones in the genre so far.
I am also fond of rosewater as a skin freshener, particularly on the face and neck. I just saw the other 2 (Gentiane Blanche & Pamplemousse Rose) on Parfum1 for a good price, but didnt look to see if they had the OV. The closest thing I have in terms of scent is Guerlains Philtre dAmour, which is fairly citrusy with the interesting twist of verbena and myrtle. This sounds really nice although the price is some kind of a drawback for a cologne which you should be able to bathe in. Do bear in mind that it is not an EdC in terms of concentration, in fact its an EdP.
