Some more progress. I think the last thinner I used was Valspar restoration series thinner, but you can also buy a common store brand equivalent.

Well I guess gross margins & accountants determine what products will be bought stocked & sold. Environmentally friendly. Well, the powdercoating on my 2005 4720 is flat toast and looks awful. So I know this has already been asked a lot but, I like to be able to ask questions, Cub Cadet yellow changed over the years moving from IH to MTD but their beige was fairly consistent iirc. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. I painted my trailer all by brush. I found the Rustoleum "Cherry" red in the rattle can is the perfect match for my Branson red at WW. But who the hell is Majic ? Not sure what year yours is but I touched up my 2003 2166 using Cub Cadet Yellow by Majic from TSC, 1962, iv heard school bus yellow majic paint is a close match but also have heard majic spraypaint sucks and dulls out within a year, I used Rustoleum Farm Implement Cub Cadet Yellowand canvas whiteon a 129it looked pretty good, I'm thinking about using the rustoleum rusty metal primer so if I end up having little pitting and wont be able to get the rust with sand paper, What would you.guys use? For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. I believe that the Majik brand paint is soybean oil based as opposed to traditional mineral oil products. Majic is a good match for my 3240 but it is very soft paint and takes forever and a day to dry. I recently watched a video on this paint which was obviously produced & paid for by Majic. I have used the new TSC Magic paint. Made with 100% vegetable oil and renewable material, including 100% U.S. grown soybeans and is non-toxic when dry. The rattle cans are mixed extremely thin and have a tendency to run plus the nozzles tend to lay too heavy of a coat so you have to move it fast. I never used the Majic paint, but have seen it at TSC recently. I have the part number out in the shop but it's not hard to spot and the WW Supercenters carry a goodly variety of paints for your choosing. It is crap. At 4 bucks a can it sure beats the OEM price for what I do with it and I store my stuff indoors so I don't worry about sun baking resistance if that were to be an issue. A family friendly forum community dedicated to all Tractor owners and enthusiasts. Nice work, Jason! It stays soft and tends to tear rather than chip. Reducing or adding 30% Mineral spirits doesn't sound like a really good thing to do.
Majic 11 Oz Tractor, Truck, & Implement Enamel Aerosol. Used a 2" "Purdy" brand brush. I can say the JD paint is excellent quality and worth the price. Both of my local TSC stopped carrying Valspar halfway through a paintjob on a 110 garden tractor. I agree with Kenny, spend the extra and buy JD paint. I'm NO paint expert, but I would like to ad my own .02 here. It isn't like it costs much more than the TSC paint anyway.

I finished the project with the Majic paint, and now it looks like crap on those parts, while the parts with the Valspar still look really nice. It sounds to me like too much.
Overall I'm satisfied with the paint for that specific purpose. Getting closer to being done, backhoe is next on the list. I think this could simply be a cheaper paint for us & more profits for Tractor Supply. She is getting there.
Also mineral spirits should be the last choice for thinning paint. I would say the Majic Cub yellow is the Cub yellow 2 from the PDF chart and not Old Cub yellow.
A forum community dedicated to John Deere tractor owners and enthusiasts. So after failing to come up with any official paint code, I took the pan from under my seat (had it removed to replace my rockshaft piston seal) and took it in to match up. I recently restored a 1020 John Deere and opted to use the Majik Paint.
I really wanted a durable paint, but will go with another brand IF I ever paint it again. I guess the bean counters at TSC coulden't care less about customer satisfaction. It is decent paint but for just a little more at napa you can buy there implement paint and it is a lot better it requires fewer coats and sprays nice I can't say anything about jd paint I have never used it I have use the valspar with good results but was disappointed with the majic and with any enamel hardener will give you a shinier more durable and obviously harder finish. It may not display this or other websites correctly.
Im just wondering now if they get a lot of complaints from customers about Majic paint & start seeing sales go down the drain, what will they do next? I used majic paint quite a few times and have been happy with the result as long as I ran it through a sprayer and not out of a rattle can. I'm sorry but for the moment I've forgotten what it is that I use. When i get around to repainting those parts, ther paint will come straight from Deere. I also agree that the majic paint is total garbage. Is this Majic paint a new product? looks good.

I'm having fun watching you paint. They didn't have a grey to match and TSC may have it. JavaScript is disabled. Use it on iron, steel, aluminum and properly primed galvanized metal. The Fora platform includes forum software by XenForo. You did not say how much paint your thinning at one time but I would guess your sprayer hold no more than 8-12 ounces on average. It suits me fine and dandy. I think I saw Valspar paint in Lowes the other day, but I don't know if they have JD colors.
