When I returned to the arts, I found pleasure in the daily practices of dance. This two day festival will feature art and music from current and former Rogers Park creators! The crawl will take place along Clark St. between Devon Ave. and Rogers Ave., allowing you to partake from 14 participating restaurants serving their signature tacos! Since that time, Kinetic Light has put disability aesthetics center stage in works like Descent, a touring production that premiered in 2018 and features an architectural ramp installation designed by Sara Hendren, Yevgeniya Zastavker, and students of Olin College. Kinetic Lighting encompasses everything I look for in a lighting services provider: close, careful attention to details in the planning and execution; creative flexibility in finding technical and budgetary solutions; meticulously maintained equipment; and a good attitude. Lighting and projection (MIchael Maag) and sound design (Dylan Keefe and Andy Slater) were particularly integrated into the performance. It's a celebration of Roots Music with some tasty backyard cooking bringing together die-hard music fans, families, and foodies for some fun. Often people see wheelchairs as restrictive medical equipment, and not as the tools that bring freedom and joy that disabled people can view them as. There will also be plenty of festival food, live music by French singer, Michelet, and artist demonstrations throughout the fest!
